February 11, 2022 by Kathy

"If I knew hearing aids could help my tinnitus, I would have done this so much sooner..." Last week I had a younger woman who shared this quote after her initial hearing aid fitting. But for her, the tinnitus disrupted her everyday life! Work became harder and her attention and focus suffered because of the drowning sound of her … [Read more...]

Is one of your goals this year to have a better marriage? Seems kind of silly to have an audiologist talk about relationships, but I actually help improve communication. According to the NBC News article sourced below “thoughtful communication can improve your marriage”! Most people who wear hearing aids will tell you they can hear people talking but they don’t understand what their family members are saying so they get frustrated and withdraw. New Year, New You! What’s your hardest craving to kick? Extra cup of coffee? Happy Hour? Sweets? Salty? //EAT HEALTHY// Nourish the body with wholesome, healthy foods. Avoid large quantities of alcohol or caffeine. The coronavirus led many to the “quarantine 15” weight gain. Bad habits set in, and it’s time to break them! Consumers Beware

December 12, 2021 by Kathy

Amplifiers are not hearing aids. Consumers Beware. Some amplifiers can damage your hearing because they raise sounds above a safe volume. Also, once you purchase an amplifier, you may be stuck with it. They often have limited trial periods and rigorous return policies! Didn’t complete the return process correctly? December 12, 2021 by Kathy

A lot of us are starting our holiday shopping early this year. When picking out toys for children, make sure to consider the volume of any sounds the toy makes! While the 2021 list has not yet been released, the 2020 list of noisy toys is a good reference for some toys that are too loud and … [Read more...]
