February is American Heart Month – The Way You Treat Your Heart Affects Your Hearing
Did you know that your heart health can affect your hearing? What’s the connection?
When your heart functions normally, blood flow to your other organs, including the ear, is normal. If you have heart disease, it can impair normal blood flow to your inner ear.
The inner ear is supplied with blood via tiny capillaries.
Don’t despair. The things you do to help out your heart, help your ears too.
A healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, fish and lean meat, and whole grains help your ears as well as your heart and every other organ in your body. Exercise is also beneficial.
Best of all, good hearing is great for your brain.
