“It shouldn’t matter what ear I put what hearing aid in.”
????????♀️
While you may think hearing aids are interchangeable between your ears, putting your right hearing aid into your left ear would be like wearing your right shoe on your left foot. You may be able to put it on, but it won’t be comfortable or work the way it’s intended!
????
Hearing aids are designed for each ear.
????
Hearing aids that go behind your ear will have wiring or tubes that are shaped specifically to go into the right or left ear canal, so if you switch sides you will have to twist or kink the tube or wire.
????
This can cause damage!
????
Hearing aid programming can also be different between your ears, so swapping hearing aids from one ear to the other can change the amount of sound volume your ear is getting!
