Summer is here and so is the hot weather. You can wear your hearing aids outside for your normal activities. If you perspire (and who doesn’t in this weather) you don’t need to worry about damaging your hearing aids.
Most newer behind-the-ear hearing aids are water resistant. You still don’t want to swim with them, but you can work in your yard, play tennis, golf, etc. without worrying.
If your hearing aids are not water resistant, we have inexpensive dehumidifiers that you can use with your hearing aids. This will prevent problems.
You may be asking, “How do I know if I have a moisture problem”. Generally, it is a moisture problem if your hearing aid works well when you put it on in the morning, then after a couple of hours it goes dead. After the hearing aid sits for an hour or so, it starts working again. If this is happening to you, give us a call. 727-323-2471.
