Vitamin D and Hearing

January 11, 2017 by Kathy

Vitamin D Deficiency and Hearing Loss

A recent study has linked Vitamin D deficiency and recurrent dizziness. BPPV or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, is very common and easily treatable by physical manipulations by an audiologist or physician.

The article by Gu Il Rhim, M.D., Ph.D. stated that older individuals with recurrent dizziness caused by BPPV, often have osteoporosis and that taking Vitamin D3 decreases the likelihood of future episodes of dizziness caused by BPPV.

If you have been diagnosed with BPPV, you might want to talk to your physician about adding a Vitamin D3 supplement to your daily regimen.

Give us a call at 727-323-2471 to learn more about this or schedule your appointment with Dr. Susan Terry at Broadwater Hearing Care.
