With all the advertising regarding pills to take for tinnitus (ringing in the ears), you would think that it is a worldwide epidemic.
People have been dealing with tinnitus forever, but no one ever thought much about it until all of these ads came out.
Yes, ringing in the ears can be devastating. For most, it is a minor annoyance. If you fall into the minor annoyance category, there are some simple steps to take. Get your hearing checked. Most people with tinnitus have hearing loss. Often managing the hearing loss relieves the symptoms.
The most important thing you can do to prevent/alleviate tinnitus, is to avoid loud noise. Noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus is preventable. If you know you will be in a noisy situation, wear hearing protection. If you have questions, please give us a call at 727-323-2471.
