Rheumatoid Arthritis and Hearing Loss

A recent article in The Open Rheumatology Journal, stated that 25-72% of rheumatoid arthritis patients have hearing loss.

smoking and hearling lossSmoking, alcohol consumption, and noise exposure can exacerbate hearing loss. Hearing loss can often be treated with steroids, anti-oxidants, and other medication, can improve hearing.

If you have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, your hearing should be monitored through frequent hearing screenings.

Problems that are identified early, can be treated more successfully.
