Ears are a prime target for sun exposure and a common spot for skin cancers.
Up to 1/3 of all skin cancer occurs on the ears. It is also difficult to see your entire ear when looking in the mirror. If you feel a rough scaly patch, you should have it checked out. Also, note any changes in skin color.
Most of us don’t think about our ears when we apply sunscreen even though it is important to use sunscreen on your ears. Don’t forget the back of your ears. If you wear hearing aids, remove them, apply the sunscreen and let it dry. Then put your aids back in.
