It gets harder to control a child’s environment as they get a little older.
You can educate your children about noise exposure the same way you educate them to stay safe.
Once again, check out your child’s toys. Do you find them too loud? Adjust the volume if possible and limit play time with noisy toys. Do not give small children anything with earbuds. They encourage loud volume and limit your ability to monitor sounds.
Check out your child’s preschool or kindergarten. The children can get noisy. There are ways to limit excessively loud sounds in the environment.
It is never too young for hearing protection. If you attend sporting events with small children, there are headphones available for small children to limit exposure to noise.
