Are you a fan of the Marvel franchise? If you are, you may have already heard that the upcoming movie, The Eternals, has Marvel’s first-ever deaf superhero!
Makkari is played by deaf actress Lauren Ridloff. In addition to being a superhero in the movies, she is also a superhero in her everyday life as she supports changes for the hearing impaired.
Ridloff is pushing for movie theaters to make the movie experience more accessible and enjoyable for people with hearing impairments by adding subtitles on ads and trailers and by improving the quality of subtitles within the movies themselves.
