Did you know the invention of the telephone helped lead to the invention of the hearing aid?
The telephone contained technology to control loudness, frequency, and distortion of sounds… all things that would be necessary for a hearing aid!
The telephone was invented in 1876, and by 1898 the first hearing aid was invented. This hearing aid had a separate microphone, amplifier, headphones, and battery, so it was very bulky.
Thank goodness hearing aids aren’t like that anymore!
