If you think you have a problem hearing – you do

October 2, 2018 by Kathy

If you think you have a problem hearing, you do!

elderly woman - hearing careI recently saw a new patient who had a “free hearing test” a few years ago because she thought she had a hearing problem. When she was tested she was told that “her hearing wasn’t bad enough” to do anything about it.

She should have gotten a second opinion then, but she struggled for an additional four years before I saw her. She needed help and I was happy to help her to have a better quality of life. She’s doing great.

I frequently see individuals who have asked their physicians for referrals because they or their families feel that they aren’t hearing well. Often, the response from the physician is, “well you hear me just fine.” How would he know any more than he could tell if you see fine?

If you think you have a problem, get it checked out. If all is well, great. If not, there are solutions to help you live a better life.

The bottom line is that hearing is important for quality of life, brain health, and overall well-being. If you think you need help, schedule an appointment with an audiologist. We are here to help.
