How would you know if you developed noise induced hearing loss (NIHL)??
Clinically we see that patients with NIHL will notice:
→ Tinnitus: ringing or noises in the ears
→ Speech is muffled or unclear: inhibiting their ability to follow conversation and hear in challenging listening environments.
Sometimes exposure to impulse or continuous loud noise can result in a temporary hearing loss that disappears after a few days. Recent studies suggest, however, that although the loss of hearing seems to disappear, there may be residual long-term damage to your hearing!
If you’re concerned about noise exposure, whether recent or throughout your lifetime, please call our office! We’re happy to help set up a baseline hearing test!
We are here to help if you or a family member is having any difficulties with hearing, hearing aids, hearing aid apps or Tinnitus please give us a call at 727-323-2471 and set up an appointment.
