Helen Keller also had Hearing Loss

October 9, 2014 by Kathy

Hearing is the essential human sense. Without hearing, we do not learn how to speak, or develop language. Hearing allows us to communicate and be a part of society. Without hearing, we are very isolated.

Hearing LossHelen Keller said that her hearing loss was worse than her vision loss.

If Helen Keller lived today, we could help her with cochlear implants. Just imagine how different her life would be. Although this is an extreme example, almost everyone with any degree of hearing loss can be helped with today’s technology.

We live in a wonderful time. We have the benefit of technology to improve our quality of life.

No one has to suffer in silence. If you feel that you might be missing the sounds around you, it is probably time for a hearing check. Give us a call at 727-323-2471. A simple check could give you peace of mind and a better quality of life.

Susan E. Terry, Au.D.

P.S. We are here to help, if you have any questions about your hearing feel free to give us a call at 727-323-2471.
