Hearing Aids Whistling or Feeback

March 14, 2022 by Kathy

Though hearing aid technology has improved over the years, hearing aids can still experience feedback or whistling sounds.

These interruptions happen when sounds that were supposed to stay in your ear leak out and are re-amplified by the hearing aid. The sounds are caused by hearing aids that are not fit properly in your ear or are close in proximity to an object like a hat, ear wax, or another person (when someone hugs you).

If your hearing aid whistles every so often, check to make sure it is in your ear all the way. If the sound continues or happens often enough to bother you, schedule an appointment. We can check your ears for wax and can adjust the hearing aid’s programming or fit.

We are here to help if you or a family member is having any difficulties with hearing, hearing aids, hearing aid apps or Tinnitus please give us a call at 727-323-2471 and set up an appointment.

We can help you.
