“Earbuds and headphones always fall out of my ear. Is it possible for your ears to be different sizes!?”
????????????????????????????????????????
YES! Although we like to think our entire body is symmetrical, there can be subtle anatomical differences even in your ear lobes and ear canals! This can certainly impact the fit of your hearing aids. In fact, some of my patients wear two different style tips on their hearing aids because their ear anatomy or hearing loss is different between their right and left ears.
What’s awesome is even if your ears are different, we have a way to ensure your hearing aids deliver the appropriate amount of sound to your eardrum????. Ultimately, even subtle differences in ear canal shape and diameter can make patients feel like one hearing aid seems louder or softer than the other. By performing Real Ear Measurements, we can verify that your fit is JUST right!
