Very often, patients will share how they have family or friends that keep their hearing aids “in the drawer”…
Of course, this is going to make them question:
“Are hearing aids really going to help?”
“Are they worth the investment?”
I explain that there are many variables that go into success with hearing aids:
1️⃣ Empowering the patient with education on their hearing loss and setting realistic expectations with hearing aids
2️⃣ Selecting devices that are fit for their lifestyle, comfort, and listening needs
3️⃣ The patient’s readiness and motivation to wear them
Knowledge is power when it comes to hearing aids. Being aware of the implications of your specific hearing loss, in addition to being willing AND ready to try them can make all the difference. Forcing and pushing hearing aids onto an individual who isn’t ready doesn’t generally yield positive outcomes!
At Broadwater Hearing Care we’re here to help you every step of the way. Our job is to ensure that you’re equipped to take on the world with your new hearing aids when you’re ready… and then you won’t be able to imagine life without them!
