Anger

March 25, 2015 by Kathy

I know that anger seems like a funny title for a blog post. But, anger and frustration are two results of hearing loss.

anger and hearingMany families report that because their loved one cannot hear well, they hear the wrong things. This can result in some comical responses, or in many cases, anger. “You said … . “ “No I didn’t.” “Yes, you did!”

It is very difficult for some people to accept that they may be having a hearing problem. It certainly can cause problems with family dynamics. No one wants to talk with Grandma when they are going to get yelled at for something that wasn’t said at all.

This leads to isolation for the individual with the hearing loss and frustration for the whole family. Addressing the problem is the best way to deal with this. A simple hearing evaluation will rule out medical problems and lead to treatment for the hearing loss. Not only will your loved one hear better, it will make life for the whole family better!
